Finally a good «problem» with my reef!!!

i mean you could, i wouldnt cause theyd prob fight. you COULD do a tomini tang, another cool one would be something like a copperband or foxface, agian size is a limiting factor. flame angel is def a stunner.

Also, I know it’s highly controversial
but personally, I feel that the tank is to small for them. My dream fish are tangs tho! I love them so much .
I think i just love fish lol

Its your tank which youve done well with- let this be your decision and conclude what color added would enhance that creation.

You will have to eventually re-home the yellow wrasse. They get real big real fast. So I suggest you pick another smaller wrasse =P. Leopard wrasse are very very nice but they can be difficult

Thank you! It’s the first time i get comments on the tank from fellow reefers. I had a rough start in this hobby with another tank but this is really my first reef. I’m not a patient person normally but with my tank, i take my time. I’ll continue to get informed!

You need a blenny. Maybe a bicolor. They find a hole and stick themselves into it and watch you all day. Mine lives in a large shell. He takes food from the spot feeder.

On yellow wrasse, maybe 4-4.5" in captivity. Its cousin, the banana wrasse gets bigger- Its a keeper.

I guess I need to stop feeding mine. It's easily 6" and thic.

A blenny was always in my plans but I have a minimalistic and open rockscape so I held back because I felt there wasn't enough space for a blenny on my rocks. I absolutely love a tailspot blenny though

Halichoeres chrysus is the smaller one however Halichoeres leucoxanthus (I believe this is the sister species to Chrysus although remains slightly more unknown to reefers) will get larger, closer to that 5-6 inch range as a mature male (mature females remain around 4-5 inch IME).

Actually, this may surprise you but some leopards can get larger than the smaller guys in Halichoeres, even just the common Blue Star Leopard can get 5 inches as a mature specimen. The max size range for Macropharyngodon is 5-7 inches generally, I have left some of the 4 inch guys out however they don’t get smaller than that. And obviously, this does depend on the species, a moyeri would get larger than a bipartitus.

Unfortunately, although the smaller fairy wrasses may work in that tank size. So will Pseudocheilinops ataenia and any of the Wetmorella species.

It's alright, I knew they were too big for a 50g but I thought that maybe I had missed one when I did my research. The Pseudocheilinops ataenia or the wetmorella species are pretty much what I'll be going for. I think they're both nice, any major differences between them?

Actually, the only major differences are that Ataenia will eat pests whilst the wetmorellas don’t really hunt pests also their bodies are slightly different, Ataenia is more so oval shaped whilst the wetmorella species are more arrow shaped.

Yep! Really debating between a small wrasse or a fire fish but i’m not rushed so i’ll see!
