I've finally got my saltwater aquarium up and running! It's a 36 gallon bowfront and has only been running for 5 days. She is a work in progress but I am so excited. Looking forward to my first living additions.

Welcome to R2R and welcome to the hobby. Now for the hard part...waiting! Congrats.

Welcome! Happy that you are joining the salty world of crazy[emoji245], lol. Love the tank but I would suggest adding more rock to provide more filtration and more space for corals.

I'm putting another 10lbs today( ten in it already). I thought it was a little sparse myself. Thanks

Think about an Apex if your budget allows. Best investment in my tank, hands down.

They monitor things like temp, salinity,Ph, and ORP. They can be set to turn things on or off, for example if the heater fails and is stuck on it will shut it off before the temperature gets too high. A lot of things it can do. You can also monitor your tank from your phone or computer away from home. Look up Neptune Apex and see if that's something you want or need just starting off, it can get pricey.

Definitely not something I need but definitely something I want haha not in my price range

Welcome and happy reefing. Only thing I would say is paint the back of your tank black or a color of choice. Hides the wires and if you get salt creep it goes right over the paint. Use a non toxic one. Do 5 coats. Use a sponge roller. Also

General rule of thumb is 1lb of rock per gallon.

Yea I was wondering if I could paint with water in it but I'm definitely going black. And more rock is coming. Probably stay at 20 thought I don't want it to look too cluttered

It'll be something you want down the line. Trust me. Check the for sale section on forums. Many reefers sell their used ones for a fraction of the cost. That's what I did. Good luck with your build though, what kind of fish you looking at

I was looking and probably could afford the jr but still not necessary for me right now. And as lame as it sounds I really want a couple clownfish first and then I don't know
