I've been wanting to add T5 to supplement my AP700, first option was the Aquaticlife Hybrid, but I got impatient waiting for them to be released from customs, so I just picked this 6 x 36" ATI for a very reasonable price. With just a little DIY, its gonna be a perfect hybrid.

It's going to be a fun wrecking and dremel'ing long day, LOL.

I'll update the thread on how will it go. Happy weekend!

Following along ! :)

Following. I was surprised to see you taking the ap700 apart. I had entertained doing what you’re doing but was thinking about just securing the ap700 into the center of the power module and cutting our fan holes on the top of the power module.

Yeah, that's was the original plan. Just attatch it to the t5 fixture using the canopy mounting arms and just call it a day,. But since I have a Dino's in my tank right now, it's perfect time not to have lights for 2-3 days anyways, so I said to heck with it! LOL

dang Kessil, they don't use a connector, not a single one, everything is soldered. Goodbye warranty. LOL

Hehehe - this happens when I get bored.

Base part is done and installed, minus wiring's and mesh to cover the old ATI fan holes.

Next will be drilling holes for the lens cover, and get done with the messy part.

Hopefully it will turn out ok. If I break the AP700, I will have to settle with T5 fixture only, because I can't afford to get another LED fixture. LOL
Well if this works I may have to hire you to retro mine ;)

We'll see how it goes, and hopefully I can finish it in a timely manner. Otherwise, my SPS will hunt me in my dreams. LOL
So there's nothing over the tank as you're doing this? Chop chop my good fellow! Lol

You could always send it back in for a non-warranty repair. :)

Some nicks here and there, but it's good enough.

Looks like I will be able to fire this up before midnight ;)
