So I bought a 2 polyp frag of some hullicinations a couple weeks back. Did my normal dip and acclimation and placed them on the bottom. Normally everything seems to open almost every immediately or within a day. These stayed shut and of course I’ve had hermits and snails walking over it which doesn’t help. After a week I moved it up a little and nothing. Yesterday I moved it closer to the top and the smaller polyp opened a tiny bit. I can still see good color in the closed polyps so I don’t think they died. Any other tricks I should try?

Also what tiype of lighting would hallucinations typically like?

Thanks, John

I’ll have to get a pic tomorrow with the lights on.

Parameters:
Ca 420
Alk 10
Nitrates 10
Phosphates - shows none but I only have an api kit for this one
Ph 8.2
Salinity 1.026
Temp 78

Everything is nice and stable for a few months now. All other corals are doing well. This zoa shipped in without a heat pack and got cold. The 2 other types that shipped with it are open and looking good. Would figure the more expensive one is having the problem.

I never had any luck with my salinity anything above 1.024 also my Alk is at high 8.0 with No3 at 30..my tanks have a TON of flow..
maybe try putting the zoas in higher flow first then move onto other topics..

Here’s a pic, not the best. I have it high up in my tank and normally I would go low light for something like this but it only partially opened with higher light.

I’m gonna try somewhere with higher flow and will report back.
