Finally got my first fish

I'd personally avoid the Gramma. I'm over Dottybacks in Nano tanks.

A Watchman Goby and Pistol pair are relatively Hardy! and fun to watch. Shrimp eats detritus in sand bed don't worry about "direct" feeding.

You could also get just a Goby.
I’m pretty sure gramma are not dottybacks

Congrats on your first fish! I know how good that feels. My Royal Gramma was a jerk, and my clowns were EXTREMELY aggressive. If you plan on snails, I would skip the hermit crabs. My advice to you would be to go slow.
You’re the second person to warn me about hermit crabs so I guess I’ll have to rethink that. The clowns are so brave, settled into my tank within minutes.

Difference of Opinions is what makes this hobby so appealing .

there are 1000’s of ways to end up at the same destination .

doesn’t mean the short cut is always the fastest
Yeah I don’t want to rush anything. I’d feel horrible if I caused any fish to die by rushing.

The only way to assure this is to quarantine everything you add to your system prior to adding them .

the couple fish you already added always have potential of bringing some parasite or disease in .

I’ve got conches, snails and hermits. Never had a problem. IMO if the hermits are given empty shells there shouldn’t be a problem. Now if they hermits were to have outgrown their shells and the only thing available to them wasn’t empty I’m sure they’d have tried lol

If adding another clown- do it now before the other gets used to tank and establish a territory
Other mates:
Banggai cardinal
flame angel (but wait til tank further matures)
Firefish goby
diadema basslet
Twin spot blenny
yellow clown goby
