Finally installed my AI Vega Colors...

I waited until I shipped an ultra expensive pack before light switch. Concerned about the change upsetting the coral or worse...
The old array caused considerable shading of the acros undersides. So I decided to switch to 2 Vega Colors for outer LEDs and a SOL Blue in the middle running off separate controller. Another nifty feature I created is a hanging system that allows each unit to slide length of tank as well as I can pivot the units for more directional control, I am now able to create the arch of the sun. I have 6mnths @least before the move so I have to live out of my QT system so I may as well make the best of it. That is why 1 black unit..going non canopy on DT so I wanted to see how the black looked and I love it especially w/ the exotic woods being used on stand :love3:

I will get PAR readings later tonight :yawn:

Had great success w/ SOLs...even better w/ 2-Vega Colors and 1-SOL Blue

Only complaint w/ SOLs was my acans hated them..however they are coloring beautifully under the Vegas!!!

Ya I like my sol. Reason I'm asking was because all my colors are pretty good besides some of my pink milles.. Idol why but its only really that color and milles.

Everything else tho loves it. Id like to use it for a frag tank as I'm upgrading and won't be going Led.

Sweet setup you got. Looks like you got a lot of sweet corals. Any close ups?

Pink has always been challenging for me in the past..Vega colors seem to be improving my pinks as for millis good color and growth

Tank looks good. How long has it been up and what type of camera are you using? For some reason all my photos with my SOL come out real blue.

Also what % where you running the SOL at and Vegas and (sorry about all the Q's) anyway you can tell me params corals are looking pretty nice. Just tryna compare and contrast.

It has been up almost 2yrs
I run my colors @ 20-20-20-80-80-80 and the SOL Blue in the middle is 20-80-80. Tank params Alk 7.5-8, PO4-.02, NO3-0, Ca-430,Mg-1300ish, Ph 8.1night-8.23day. Dose ProDibio w/ ZeoStart3 (in lew of vodka) And feed 2x/day (variety of foods, there fav is RN Oyster Feast)
To knock out the blue set all colors @100% and try to get top downs if poss. I was using an iPhone for pics bc my pics really really stunk under the LEDs! I recently after much experimentation have my camera (Nikon D70 w/Sigma macro) dialed in to my LEDs, part is a "white balance lens cap" just snap on cap point @ source light where taking pic and use for white balance reference setting. Most of my latest pics are the Nikon.

Awesome!, ya I dose start3 and bak and some other zeo products but I do not run the stones (I plan to when I upgrade)

Ya I actually bleached some sps when I first got it I let it coral acclimate to around 60/90/90 and man is this thing strong I keep turning it down cause its power is inane. I'm now at 30/70/75 lol. I think I'm going to stay here as well.

I also might switch the 40 optics out but still not sure.
