Finally Scored this chalice - Red Snakeskin

I finally found this chalice I have only seen once and have spent the last six months looking for it. Picking up a frag in the next few weeks from Craig (Soccerbag). He has given me permission to post the mother colony pic, I am pretty stoked about it.

He is calling it the Bagbos Red Snakeskin Chalice. Should have a nice frag in two weeks after it is healed. Will get some shots then.

While I'm not familiar with this chalice, I am familiar with Soccerbag. I just got my Miami Hurricane frag from him today and it was probably one of the most pleasant internet transactions that I've had. His communication was fantastic and shipping procedures were impeccable. Craig, why didn't you tell me you had this chalice??! lol

Yeah Craig is a very cool guy and great to deal with, I have bought other stuff from his collection as well and I have been very pleased. As I try and build up my collection, I realize how cool this hobby is and addictive it is. You read threads about corals people found and it gets you excited to find one yourself that not many people have.

Then of course the process starts over again and you spend tons of money buying stuff, trying to convince your wife that there really isn't more stuff in the frag tank, you have no idea why FedEx keeps coming to your house every week and where did all those styrofoam coolers come from in the garage?

Getting new corals is a lot more fun than cutting old ones, but sometimes its definitely worth it

Just picked up a frag of the blue snakeskin chalice as well. So I think I have that combo deal coming up once they grow out, the blue and red snakeskin chalice pack!

Good shot Coraldiva. I got my blue snakeskin piece from Frank Twinspot Goby and am excited to get that one and the red from Soccerbag in a few weeks. And I look forward to it growing as large as yours!

Has it been a fast grower for you and does it eat if you feed it? Thanks again

The mouths have never opened to feed for me, but it grows at a decent rate. I've had mine for a little over a year & have fragged it a few times already. It does fine in both low light and high light with moderate flow.

You'll definitely enjoy watching the red and blue grow side by side. It's a beautiful chalice with a unique pattern IMO
