Finally starting up the new (In-wall) tank

So i turned down the faucet about three quarters and the gauge now reads 80. Is that a better Idea than getting a pressure reducer?

Also, since i was running the unit at 93 psi for about an hour. Was that water filtered out properly or should i dump it?
 
Yes but, only if you plan on turning off the RD/IO unit, otherwise the pressure will just creep back up.

It should be fine... the issue is more along the line of membrane life/damage, and the rubber seal o-rings.
 
I noticed that since i lowered the psi a little bit. The 2nd chamber of the DI resin filled up a little bit more.

If you want, and this is 100% optional, you can crack them open slightly during operation to get the air out, again optional they will work either way... sorta like bleeding a radiator... lol

Ah Okay got it. I was on BRS and they have pipe reducers for pvc but cant find any for the RO system. since im going to use the vertical RO storage tank as an ATO also. I need to keep the faucet on. So i think i might need to get the reducer yah?

I'll try that. So just open twist the canisters half way until the psi drops? also, do i keep the faucet turned down or crank it back up?
 
One more question. lol My washing machine is connected to the same faucet and when the washer turns on the Psi suddenly drops about 10psi then immediately back up again. Will that be a problem?

Just enough for the air to escape you see it happen right way, leave everything as is... no need to turn anything off or down.

Not really, just won't perform optimally...
 
I had 150psi on my main as this is an old house and a regulator was never installed, I just got one last yr and set it to 75psi.
 
So do i twist the reducer onto the faucet's male threaded hose connector? its made out of brass.

No, you will need 1/4 press type to whatever size the threads are on the regulator, I got them at Lowe's.

Question: When the tank is full and the float switch is activated. Would that be an exception for the gauge to stay at 100psi?
