Finally!!!

I've now got five clowns in my tank. Over months all have show zero interest in my carpet anemone. Well today we have contact!! I'm so happy... I'd like to thank all of those who contributed to us being here today...

Congrats on the contact, your setup intrigues me. I have a few questions if you'd be so kind...

What size tank has all of those clownfish in it? What size are they an how long have they been together? Are they all the same species?

60g cube. The clowns are 2 Ocellaris, 1 b. ocellaris, a perc, and a maroon. The only new one is the maroon added yesterday. My thought was after I added first clown any additions would have to be larger than the last. The smaller ones unite in their hatred of the new, but they can't do much against the larger clown. This seems to have been successful believe it or not. I broke my rule about size with the maroon. Not sure if I answered your question?

I seriously doubt that the maroon will last. It's four against one. Maroons been fending off brutal attacks all night long. He's too small and the reason for my rule.

It's been an interesting night. All of the aggression going on against the new maroon seems to have ignited the instincts to hosting. After months of showing zero desire to host suddenly they are all over the carpet... except the maroon. It's interesting that this aggression has flipped on the instinct switch to host which i guess is a part of the evolutionary purpose. Anyone ever heard of four unrelated clowns hosting a single carpet peacefully? Yes I'm sure some will say that this won't last but believe it or not these four clowns really have created a cohesive unit prior to hosting. There are 3 females/1 male, the maroon I'm unsure of gender.

I love that carpet anemone! Beautiful!! They say the clowns will host when they are ready / want to... this only goes to show. You should be excited... nemo sure is LOL
