...after decades of enjoying walking around the fish store, and imaging a saltwater tank of my own one day, the day has come! Well, it actually came last black Friday, when I ordered the SCA 66 PNP system at special holiday pricing. I've been out here almost every day(even before getting the tank), and finally getting around to introducing myself to this great community.

My name's Tod and I'm from Columbus, Ohio. I'm happily married to Patti and together we've been blessed with 5 amazing children. I want to share this great hobby with last 2 before they're out of the house. Time sure does fly.

Well, you'd think I'd be further along more than 6 months later, but nooooo. So much planning, thinking, researching, modifying, screwing up!! Spent a month modifying the stand, another month modifying the sump, another month adding floor support in the crawl space, another month on pvc plumbing(screwed up the very first joint I glued....Doh!), another month leveling the stand(there's a story here), a couple weekends on electrical, another month working on the aquascape, and now, currently trying to find power strips and inline GFCI chords. I'm so close I can almost taste it. Just about ready to get the tank wet and start cycling. Still haven't decided on lighting....$$$...ouch. I also hope to get around to doing a build thread one day. There would definitely be some laughs.

I've already learned so much from many of you out here. This forum has some great people who are obviously passionate about the hobby...and maybe even more passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience so that we can all enjoy a beautiful piece of the ocean. Thanks a bunch!

Welcome! Look forward to seeing a build thread. :)

Those are truly kind words, Tod

It's an honor to have you and Patti be apart of our family.

We are all excited for your build and wish you all the best.

Hope you feel right at home, and Welcome to Reef 2 Reef.

Freddie

Welcome Tod to R2R. You're experiences hit way too close to home. Took me 5 months to get the tank wet and the tank was already in the wall. Had a hard time getting my plumbing pieces. About the moment I think I had it worked out, I'd realize I didn't have enough of one fitting or one threaded nipple. Two months to get my RODI tanks in to start making water. At least a week to find and fix the leaks. But was it ever worth every grueling moment. You will soon see the pot of gold at the rainbows end.

!!! Welcome to the R2R, Tod !!! Don't forget to post some pictures and make your own build thread so we all can see your progress and at the end you will see what you accomplish on this hobby.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

We're happy to have you as a part of our reefing family! :)
