I've had this female extreme picasso clown for almost 2 years now. Bought her in a pair but unfortunately the male was eaten by my bubble coral (8" or so). That's a different story. I've tried twice to get her a male to bond with but she refuses; both times Picassos as well. She'd bully them until they understood they had to stay in one spot of the tank. Never was there any interest. Both males that I bought were the smallest in their clutch but there's always the off chance it could have been another female. I'm going to try another clown once more to hopefully have a pair. She's about 3+" now and roams between my RBTA and torch corals. Any suggestions?

i had the same situation about 5 years ago, I went with a conventional Perc instead and she took to him.
give that a try,
best of luck

shes gorgeous btw

Haha, that's the problem. I'd like to pair her up with another clown with a similar pattern. So, it'll take me a while to find one and then I'll hopefully get lucky

i totally get you on that. but even with a regular clown father there is still a chance at baby picassos.

either way best of luck where are you located? close to NJ?

Yes, I'm close to northern NJ. Do you know any stores in the area selling nice Picassos?

Where in north jersey? I'm in Bergen. I know a guy who breeds sick clowns.

I'm picky when it comes to my clowns. I've checked out a handful of stores since I started this thread but just haven't found the right one. Would it make sense to take her out of the display tank for a couple weeks and keep her in the sump once I get a new clown? The last two clowns I got for her didn't work out at all; I'm not too optimistic for the next. She's pretty aggressive, so this way the male would have some time to get settled in before she gets introduced again.

They say that works. But when I finally got my female to take to a male I just dropped him in with her. Did you try Aquarium Care Center?
