Finger leather coral placement

I have a finger leather coral Which was doing good at the spot it was for a couple days after getting it and then it shed. It has been a week since it shed and the polyps closed up again two days ago and it’s shrinking and shriveling. I think the flow placement is wrong I have it midway away from my wavemaker with generous flow. I feel it is too much. Any recommendations?
The params are mostly good, I had another thread for those.

Mine are midway in tank and always open with polyps everywhere. I have medium flow and moderate light cycle. Too much white does not thrill them
The sensitive things that affect them are :

Low flow
high nitrate
high phosphate
High salinity
Lack of iron in water
temp too warm

I would suggest to take a water sample to a trusted LFS that does NOT use API test kit and have them test for you to compare with your readings and see what they come up with

What temp is too warm I’m running my tank at 79. The soonest time I’ll be able to go to my lfs will probably be this weekend, but my mag, calcium, and alk are all salifert tests. I only use api for nitrite ammonia nitrate and phosphate.

Ammonia and nitrate are the ones of concern.
Temp range is 77-79

Wouldn’t my fish be dead with ammonia? And the other corals show signs. Maybe in running too much white light.

Not necessarily dead but distressed unless long term high ammonia.

Mine get a lot of flow and it does not seem to bother them. Just give it some time, it will take a few days for it get adjusted. Soon you will have many! You can see the one in the back is closed up, it has been that way a few days, not worried, it is my original piece that all the other pieces have come from
