Have you had your hands in the tank? It will hate that. For giggles, put it low in the tank, with moderate flow. See if that helps. Mine has always resided in the lowish area with medium flow and does fine. Then give it a week.

I had a devils hand once.. now I have a bunch! It is hardy and will shrivel up for a few days as it sheds and will come back bigger and better and it won't be long before you will be pull out the little pieces it drops off.

Yes. Too much moving around is stressing it. Move it to mid tank in path of water flow and leave it there

Okay I have some of those long clamps are those better? My snails flip over sometimes so I have to flip them back.

The only snails you should have to turn over are atrea snails. Maybe a big turbo, but you should not have those in a young tank. All others can right themselves.

I would try to use a long forceps or grabber, yes. Try to not mess in it for a bit anyway. Silly snails.

The tank is 8 months old. By turbo I meant the astrea turbo snails not the Mexican turbo. Sorry fo the confusion.

For anyone viewing this thread in the future. The leather coral shed again and is now opening up nicely.
