I have a 270 gallon reef tank with a small mix of corals. I’ve had a persistent algae issue that snails and urchins just don’t keep up with. I’d like to beef up my fish population with herbivores and don’t know the best way to proceed to avoid aggression issues. I’m not against large fish, but my long term goal is piles of 1-2” fish, a bunch of 2-4” fish, and a few 4-8” fish. I also don’t want another rabbitfish as mine just didn’t seem to have enough swimming room and refused to touch any algae.
As far as snails go, what are best for GHA that’s growing within nooks and crannies? I had mounds of turbos, but they were killed off by dinos and I’d like to restock with a well rounded population. Note that my tank is barebottom.
Thanks for any guidance
