Finnex Controller Help!

I set my Apex and the Finnex heater to 77 degrees why is it showing 87? I thought they were calibrated. I threw the box out and I couldn’t find great instructions on YouTube.

what temp does your Apex show? My Apex is programmed to shut off the heater if it reaches 79F

Mine has a high (do not exceed number). I have mine on 79. Current temp 78.4

Both in the back chamber of the display. Apex and Hanna Checker show between like 73-75. My actual heater is set to around 80. And Apex is programmed between 76-77.

73 right now. I can tell you that I probably need to calibrate the Apex Probe again but it’s definitely not 87 degrees.

Sounds like the finnex probe/controller is garbage.

Ok - I don't have a finnex controller and not sure how it should work out of it the box. Just wanted to make sure your long running apex had correct temp (not really that high)

Oh well that may explain it lol. I guess I’ll use it on my lobster tank then.

The apex should work because it has its own temp measurement and only shuts off that power outlet to finnex controller if temp is going above a max set point. Not sure why it has that statement in manual without reading all the details
