Finnex HC-820m heater controller NOT compatible with apex?

Hi

Was looking at the HC-820m heater controller and it says on every sale site:
**Note** The HC-820M is NOT compatible with the APEX controller series.

I don't understand what they mean by this. If I plug the heater controller into the powerstrip, all the Apex is doing is cutting the power if the heater fails and the temp gets too high ?? How is turning off the power to the controller translate into "not compatible with Apex"? Does the controller need a specific start up procedure after the power is cut??

Just don't understand what they are talking about when they mention compatibility.

I think that it means that it’s probe is not capable for use as in controlling an Apex temp control or the temp switch, which is what Apex’s temp probe does.

It seems like you could still at least, use the Apex to shut it off as a fall back, in the case your reef hits a really high temp, via Apex’s temp probe readings.
