It wouldn’t have done you any good anyway. I “had” a 48” 8 bulb ATI Hybrid lamp that was on the floor when my house flooded in 2021. So, I now have an ATI 8 bulb fixture with two Kessil 360 WE lamps on both ends and an older Kessil w350 on the back of the canopy. Like this…

Wow! Thanks for going through the whole thread! I think it spans about 8 years. I thought about throwing in the towel a number of times, but I am still at it. I have been in the hobby too long to stop now.

Thanks. I won $500 worth of credit from BRS a couple or few years ago and I put that toward the two newer Kessils.

That big ATI hybrid still lights up, but I am concerned about internal corrosion and . It was leaning on its side during the flood and got about 6” to 7” of water in it. It might be fine. The insurance paid for it but when I went to order another one I found that they were no longer available. So I got the dimmable 8 bulb instead.

I sure hope your insurance treated you right when you guys got hit. If they paid for an aquarium light fixture then it sounds like they did. However, I cannot say the same thing as I am still dealing with the insurance company 4 months after hurricane Ian hit us. It’s partially their fault and mostly the fault of our agent. Quite a long story s as I’m sure you can imagine. Long story = short story = I am going today to have a final discussion with the agent. I am going to give him an opportunity to do the right thing or we are going to have to sue them. I hate to involve lawyers but it is looking like all other options have been exhausted.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your insurance company. That is unfortunately all too common when there is a storm. One of my neighbors waited almost two years for his check. I was taken care of promptly in the storm and the flood. I hope you can get things resolved soon.

On the ATI light, I know they are still in business but that particular light is no longer available.

My wife ran across this on a web site for local estate sales. A piece of “Blue Coral” mounted on a piece of acrylic. It is priced at a cool $750! I had a piece of that laying around here for about 40 years and I think I recently threw it out. That stuff was everywhere four decades ago and the piece I had I think I paid $35 for. LOL!

Yeah, I didn’t know there was such a market for dyed coral skeletons. I have a piece of pink and purple under a palm tree in my back yard. Amazing.

At the image you see Heliopora in one of our experimental setups. Some reefers regard Heliopora as the ugliest coral they know. I guess this is because it will never become a colorful coral, it always stays dark brown. And albeit showing interesting growth shapes it will never move in the flow...
