Fire and Ice Questions

I have a frag of fire n ice zoas that haven't colored up too well. The blue is very faint. Growth is good but just no color. I had them on the bottom of my tank and have moved them up 10" from my mh, where they have been for over a month.

Will their color (blue) ever come back? High light, low light?
Is the pop you see in other photos due to actinic lighting?

Tank params are all zero. except Nitrate, alway between 0 and 2 (salifert), I feed heavily.

im guessing try to put a lil more flow to it and see. feed them phyto chromo and stuff

i had the same problem and put a frag in lower light and one in higher light and the ones in higher light got alot of the color back not as good as when i got them but did get better the ones down lower just turned to more of a grey color..i also have them in higher flow

Mine have good color but I keep them under 400 watt halides 20,000K

Thanks everyone for the replies.

First off I was told that I do need a new bulb (too old). I'm gonna get a 20000k Radium. I do feed heavily and spray the frag w/cyclopeze/reefroid/mysid mix. Flow - I have it under a K1 so it's indirect.
I am thinking of upgrading my lighting to 250w.

Fts showing the frag placement under k1 this is 14000k lighting - should I change the position?

fwiw, I had mine under 70MH w/ a 14K bulb and moderate flow. They looked fine for as long as I kept them. Didn't really grow that quickly, but I didn't ever feed the tank much either.

Nice looking FTS, by the way. Haven't seen many pictures of barebottomed mixed reefs. I'm planning mine out right now, so it's cool to see someone else's.
