FIre behind a Club members house.

Sounds like she was something else...why would you be in the attic? What a shame

Was the 21 year old daughter. She was told she was not allowed to smoke in the house, so she smoked in the attic. The phone rang and she just tossed the butt down and put it out with her foot.

The house next door also has heat damage.

yea, I always tell people, any problem money can solve is not a problem..

I feel sorry for the daughter. All she could think about was how mad her mom was going to be.

Why not use an ash tray or go outside? I am sorry if I seem like a jerk but I really do not feel sorry for the 21 year old that started the fire, she is old enough to know better and to practice responsible behavior...and this totally could gave been avoided. Flicking a cigarette into the attic insulation (or anywhere besides an ashtray or container) and stepping in it because the phone rang is inexcusable. I dont know anybody who flicks their cigarettes onto the floor indoors anyway. Attics are dry with good ventilation and a fire ready to happen, I do feel sorry for the mother for having to lose a home because of her daughters completely irresponsible behavior. Just my opinion.

My aunt-in-law just lost a home in Mobile AL in a fire that could not be prevented and I helped her gut it (total loss). I feel bad for her because it was outside of her control, but this is just irresponsibility.

Sadly.... this house caught fire a few years back too.... mattress caught fire due to......cigarette by this same girl.

Maybe... (follow me with this, apparently its hard to figure out).... she should just quit smoking.
