Brought 2 home earlier today. My fuzzy dwarf thinks they're food even though he's eaten 2 guppies and a ghost shrimp to fill him up before new guys went in. They are about 2 inches, fuzzy is 2 inches. Had one hanging out of his mouth halfway for about 2 minutes before he spit him back out. That was 5 hours ago. Fire fish seems fine. Just hoping fuzzy forgets about them! Any thoughts?

The fuzzy will not forget about them. Get them out before it’s too late. They’re living in a box w something that’s going to keep trying to eat them. That’s gotta be stressful. Plus not a good idea to have 2. Not a suitable environment for them I’m afraid.

Will put them in my brother's tank. But they like each other 20190515_191156.jpg

Awesome! If they’re good together, keep em together then :) it’s not usually advisable but I know it’s been done so kudos.
Yep they're buddies. But still gotta go. Didn't think the fuzzy would go after fish his size

Aww. Hey, I once paid $40 for a Rainford goby after receiving bad info and had to give it away 3 days later. We all make these mistakes. Important thing is that you care enough to educate yourself and act accordingly. Keep up the good work ;)

They may seem to get along now but don’t be surprise when one of them kills the other one or you got a pair

The fuzzy is going to go after them again. It’s best to just give them back and they don’t do well in pairs

I've read that, but I've had a pair for many months now. I do have a large tank but they stick together in the same area most all of the time.

There are lots of fish that are recommended be kept singly. But, in the wild, many of these fish live in groups or in pairs. It’s just much much much trickier in a tank because it’s a confined space and they don’t choose their second half. But sometimes you luck out and the 2 you end up with beat the odds and get along. If they’re good together, I think it would be a shame to split them up.

Yeah definitely. I'm tempted to add a few purple fire fish as well. They can hang out on the other side of the tank.

**Sorry OP for going somewhat off topic, my vote is to rehome them before they get eaten by your lionfish.

+1
Or maybe rehome the lion fish or, better yet, get a another tank :)

Small Fish=Food to a Lionfish. Keep predators in predator tanks.
