Elmo my fire shrimp died today. Wanted to see if y’all had any ideas why. I tested the water after I found his body. Salinity seemed on with a slight reading of ammonia and nitritates water temp at 76.8 I purchased it right as I was about to hit third week of cycling tank and days before my first diatom outbreak. A few days later I got a conch and snail to clean after diatoms since my shrimp was lazy and only came out for food. The conch poops a lot so I don’t know if that had to do anything with it or if I was too early into my cycle and diatoms took away oxygen? My snail conch and damsel are fine. I know fire shrimp can be sensitive and we did have a birthday party with lots of people and music the day before.

Nevermind. It was its shell. I didn’t know they shed it to grow. Might have to rename him Jesus lol
