I have had my tank for 13 months now. I have had my fire shrimp for 9 of those months. He’s been doing great. He molted two days ago. Yesterday I did a 5g WC.
Tank Paramiters
PH 8.4
Nitrate 10
Phosphate 0
Salinity 1.023
Temp 76.5
Mag 1450
KH 9
25 g tank

I have been batting the past two weeks with rust algae. I recently received a new fish and believe I’m over stocked. I’m giving the fish to the LFS.

This morning I
The shrimp was out of the cove and on the side of the rock which is unusual. Later I can back he’s still there. I poked him to see if he’s alive. He reacts but won’t really move. Any ideas?! I’m at a loss.

It is possible it is starting to go into or struggling with a molting. Calcium needed for their skeletons also

Calcium is at 440. I bumped it up this morning. I’m hoping that will help.

I add a iodine mix every WC along with a small amount of Iodide doses every other day

Just give it some time he might pull through i know it sucks losing critters I’ve lost a cleaner a few months back that was killed by a coral banded

A small amount weekely should be sufficient. May be too much. Have you tested for iodine before adding more?

I have and I’ve been exactly where I need. Unfortunately I got home and he was on his back. Not sure what happened. Pretty bummed. Thanks for your help guys
