Fire shrimp wants to eat!

My fire shrimp wants to eat really badly he knows when food is being fed he gets excited and everything but he is inside a rock and will not come out when food is being fed. Can spot feed silver side or
Should I not worry and try and wait him out he's doing a lot better at coming out then before but won't fully come out to eat.

How long since he has eaten (that you've seen)? Personally I'd try getting him to come out and eat vs. spot feeding him and him becoming used to it.

They are nocturnal animals, they won't usually come out during the day. I put mysis pellets in my tank 1x a week to feed the nocturnal critters. It is going to go crazy every time it senses food

Ya but I want him out during the day. Fish will come over to him and get a "car wash" he doesn't fully come out but he always wants to get some brine when I feed it. He gets really close to coming out. After all the mysis aren't swimming

Idk how to get him out tho. I bought him from the store I work at 3 days ago. That's when he ate from when I saw. He could be eating dead skin and stuff off my fish a lot of my fish have wanted a car wash

Shrimp and crabs are mostly nocturnal... It's just how they are. I've got a banded coral shrimp that NEVER comes out during the day. He's always tucked up inside a cave until the lights go out, then he'll come out and look for food scraps. If you want to make sure it's getting fed, put just a few pellets in after the lights have been off for about an hour and the fish are asleep. The shrimp will find them. I wouldn't do this too much tho as you'll get a bunch of nutrients built up.

If you want a shrimp that is out and about frequently, and sets up a cleaning station then Fire Shrimp is not the best choice by a long shot. My favorite shrimp, but they tend to hang out in the overhangs and caves the vast majority of the time. If you can find a pair they may be out more frequently. The shrimp will pick about for remaining food particles and should be fine once acclimated as long as chemistry is in line.

My fire shrimp hangs out underneath the ledges and overhangs during the day, but comes out at feeding time, unless he has molted...then he stays out of the light.
Mine will eat out of my hand, or from the feeding syringe. I have to give home some food when I feed the corals or he will steal it from them. You could try to target feed a few times putting the food right where he hangs out.

My fire hardly ever comes out and I've had him a couple years now. My coral banded sometimes comes out at feeding time but I see him walking all over the live rock when lights are out.
