Firefish ate General Cure

I was treating my QT tank housing a purple firefish and a flasher wrasse with the second dose of General Cure. I thought I had the med well dissolved but noticed quite a few small pieces floating and the stupid firefish started eating them. Not sure how much he ate but don't think it was more than 3 or 4 pin head size pieces.

Will this be a problem? Anything I can do to mitigate this?

My potters wrasse ate some once (3” tiny guy) while in QT. Saw no ill affects to him. I’d say you’re in the clear as metro is often combined with fish food to treat internal bacterial infections and well a sensitive leopard wrasse like mine ate it, and survived. Prazi would be the only concern but anything dosed to the tank in proper moderation should not harm the fish.

I typically stir general cure in a cup of QT water for 5 mins before dosing. Doesn’t completely dissolve the meds but it’s generally diluted

I'm sure it was the Prazi component as that is the one that is less soluble. I mixed with a power head for 15 minutes in 5 gallons of water(part of a water change). Usually that dissolves it to the point of not being an issue but for some reason this time it didn't.

When I treat for internal parasites, I frequently use General Cure (Metronidazole / Praziquantel) instead of Metroplex (Metronidazole only), along with Focus. No issues so far.

He seems to be fine so far. Wasn't surprised he ate one piece as he's a very aggressive eater. Was shocked when he ate more....I would have thought it would taste really bad!
