I think getting him out would be too hard..he hasn't come out long enough and would probably dart back in his cave. I'm thinking old age myself. I do not want to rip my tank apart to get himYou could try removing him into a QT. If not lights, tankmates, food, rocks, ect. It would be to look at illness or age. I have an older firefish too, and was concerned until recently. I think, your may be dealing with illness or age. Both are against the firefish![]()
I never knew that....that gives me hope that he's having a bad week....We have had fire fish that were sitting on the bottom and looking like they were on deaths doorstep, then a few days later they were acting fine. The lfs says it's some what normal for them to lay around.
Let's hope, losing fish is never fun. To catch a fire fish is near impossible. We had one stay in the rock and could not get it out even with the rock out of the water.I never knew that....that gives me hope that he's having a bad week....
+1Don't give up. It may be alive. We have gone days without see ours.
He was sitting in very corner not moving, had to leave for work so couldn't see more clearly. Will check in am thoughDon't give up. It may be alive. We have gone days without see ours.
So he's still alive...barely sitting in the corner...not sure if I should try to take him out while I can or let him be...my QT isn't set up at the moment
Hmmm that's a possibility... I will let him be, if he dies in his cave I'm sure my cuc will take care of him before he causes water issuesI'd just let him be; unless you see something you can treat for. I wonder if he's possibly gone blind? I had a gramma go blind and he would just mope around.
I think its because he is being pestered by your coris wrasse wrasses in general nip at each other and since it a similar shape it might have done it a couple of times so it's hiding
in general firefish if not introduced as a pair or group they tend to hide because of all the fast moving fish (faster than them)
i would try switching up the food add garlic or frozen whatever just get them going a little
Moving a fish you think is dying is a bad idea they usually die sooner i feel in the tank they have the best chance unless its some sort of parasite or something is bothering them
Unfortunately he passed last week. I will not be adding another at this time as the other fish I have are established in the tank and am afraid of bullying. My wrasse never appeared to bother him but who knows when I wasn't around or lights were off
