I'm getting a firefish goby and its my first time to have one. I have read some information on the internet but I wanted some other opinions.

They are fairly easy to keep; however I would only get one. Having 2 or more usually results in the dominant one whittling down all the others. Also, they are notorious jumpers; so a screen top is a must.

OK thank you will he be fine with my scooter blenny, clownfish, and dottyback

Hello. I am happy i have expierience with firefish goby's. I have one. i have had him for about 4 months. he doesnt jump. doesnt bother any of the other tank mates like 2 clowns, scooter blenny, yasha goby, pistol shrimp, and pom pom crab.

at any case. each individual fish has a personality of its own and i would take care until you learn your fishes temperement.

I have kept a number of these fish and have never have aggression issues with them, jumping sadly has always eventually gotten them no matter what lid I have on.

OK thank y'all for all the help I'm really looking g forward to getting him

You'll have to post of picture once the fish gets all settled in!

Ok can do I should get him tomorrow or saturday

OK thank you will he be fine with my scooter blenny, clownfish, and dottyback

Dottybacks will oftentimes stake out a hole in a rock and defend it fiercely. So, they sometimes become too aggressive for other smaller fish. Sometimes larger ones, too.

Ok thanks for the tip I will watch them with caution

I just bought a Firefish about 3 weeks ago and he is doing great. Beautiful little fish and very peaceful. He doesn't not bother any of my inhabitants. In fact, he is quite shy and he remained hidden for the first week I had him. He eventually started coming out more often. He's out swimming during the day, but when the lights dim down, he stows himself away back in under a rock... unless he smells food. He won't eat from the surface; waits until the flakes float down to him. Named him Spooky! Gets along fine with my 2 clowns and yellowtail damsel. A very interesting, beautiful, fascinating fish. I have considered getting a 2nd, but not sure how well they get along in pairs, so I've left him by his lonesome for now.

Thank you that's amazing I'm about to get him hopefully in about 2 hours

I got my firefish goby and I was wondering what his normal behavior is gonna be

Mine is showing some strange behavior as I type this. He keep bolting down at the sand and scratching his side against the sand bed. Never seen him do that before. Weird. Sometimes my fish can be rather odd.

I actually have 3 firefish and they all get along. They hang out in a group and eat the misis shrimp I feed them. Haven't tried to jump they actually stay toward the bottom of my tank. Great little pops of color and super cool to watch.

Mine is sitting on top of my tank being weird but I just got him today. Is that normal behavior

I have 2 of them for about a year now, they stay mid to bottom of the tank. They stay around each other without any aggression. They eat anything I feed, pellets, frozen or flake.

Mine is on his side is that OK for him to be right now
