Hi I bought a firefish last Thursday and noticed white spots on it yesterday. Will it survive with two blood red fire shrimp cleaning it or should I start dosing polyplab reef safe medic?

There’s a ton of threads on this and the consensus is that nothing reef safe will eradicate ich.

The polyplab medic is hydrogen salt which will help the fish grow an immunity to the parasite. This can be done with its own immune system if the fish is healthy. It’s easier with the help of a parasite eater.

It may survive, but the shrimp won't have anything to do with it. Don't bother trying any in tank "treatments" none of them work well. Unless you plan to take the fish out and treat properly, just focus on feeding a high-quality diet and it may pull through.

The shrimp will help pick some parasites off of it.

With a management program you will always have to worry new additions becoming ill and perishing. I would set up a QT for all of your fish treat them with copper and let your DT go fallow for 76 days to eradicate the parasite.

I’ll try I might have mixed up an air bubble with ich tho.
