Firefish missing for 3 weeks.

I wanted to post this since there aren't a whole lot of threads on these fish hiding while the question of a missing one comes up frequently.

I noticed mine was missing after accidently dropping a heavy glass dish I thaw frozen food in, into the tank. He did not show back up until this afternoon, looks fine, clearly wasn't going hungry. I think I scared it, and it went to love in the engineer goby tunnels for the entire time.

Typically it goes into a little burrow my engineer goby dug out for it at night, but it wasn't there at any point while missing.

I thank my incredibly hospitable engineer goby for making my firefish feel safe while recovering from the scare.

If you came across this searching, don't give up hope just keep your maintenance going and it might show back up.

Yeah my firefish goes missing for up to a week gets me worried then out of know where out comes hims in the open like nothings wrong

I'm bumping this. My purple fire fish was out free swimming for a month then one day, just started hiding same as you all's. Occasionally he pokes his head out. Then back to the cave. He's small and I have a lot of pods. I feed a frozen mix of 50% mysis, 25 calnis, and the remaining 25 split with brine and plankton. He will come out, grab literally one mysis then vanish.

I think he's dead all the time. Certainly he will eventually die if this keeps up. Anyway, not looking for answers, I'm just keeping a sharp eye on him.

Mine lived for 6+ months hiding in the return portion of my 20g AIO...

My firefish was last seen in november until yesterday.

I thought for sure he was gone this time.

I am starting to suspect it jumps into the overflow and can't get back out easily. I've taken a look in the overflow to see a few times, but nevr noticed it.

Looks like he shrank a bit, but he's back to his old spot out front, very social and not skidish of the kids anymore. Eating great.

So this time he was missing for... almost 9 weeks.
