Firefish missing

I have a firefish and today I said I’ll give him some more caves so I did a 10% water change followed by moving my rock structures around giving the little guy more caves too swim in and out of. Problem now is I can’t find him at all in the tank. I even took apart the rock structure and couldn’t find him at all. Do they burrow in the sand? Or will they swim into the crevists of the rock too hide?

Mine lives in super small holes in my pukani. It was probably very stressed from the reaquascape and will come out eventually.

Thanks was worried there I was gunna call him spike but I think Houdini would suit his name better.

Yes I mean I'd give it a few days. I barely saw my helfrichi for the first week in the tank. Try staying out of view of the tank most of the day and sneak into the room periodically.

I have three fire fish in my tank. Two of them hover most of the day together and the third hides. I actually didn’t see the third for over a week and thought it might’ve died, and then he popped out during feeding time one morning. Yours will probably reappear once their stress goes down.

I can't keep them because they always jump out. So now, when I buy them, I get them home, gently open the bag, and to save time, throw them on the floor.
