Hey,
My brother and I recently set up a 100 gallon reef tank and I was looking at purchasing firefish after the cycle. I've read that they cannot be kept as a community but are two able to kept in the same tank if they are pairs and will they be safe and basically guaranteed to attack each other?
Thanks

Are you starting a fight club for firefish? Or did you just forget how to english lol.

Anyways, to answer your question (I think I parsed it right): Yes you can keep a pair, but you have to make sure it's not just two random fish you add into the tank. I prefer the old fashioned way of getting a group of six and letting them figure out which two are a pair, then returning the other four. Sometimes you can find established pairs as well. If it's a true pair, they shouldn't attack each other if there's plenty of food. Otherwise, they might attack each other.
