Firefish tail almost gone!

My bicolor dotty back has been nipping on my firefish and his tail is almost gone.. I can't even consider taking either one of them out without ripping my whole tank apart. He's healthy but its been getting worse. I see it happen but I can't do anything about it. Suggestions?

You could make a trap and see if you can get either fish. Remove the aggressor if caught or preferably catch the firefish and get it into a hospital tank with some meds.
