Hey everyone. Hope you are staying safe and sane during quarantine. I currently have a firefish in quarantine, along with YWG and 2 clowns. The firefish is acting normal, eating well, and about ready to go into dt with the others.

I may have missed his tail looking this way at purchase, but a couple of days ago I noticed it doesn't have the same complete rounded tail like many images of firefish on internet. I moved him into a separate qt incase he was being harrassed by the clowns, though I never saw any aggression. Should I treat firefish with metro or gc, or just feed with vitamins and see if his tails heals up on its own?

Good quality food + vitamins. Watch the tail for a "ragged" appearance and or a white-ish film for signs of bacterial infection.

Thanks for the reply. I was planning on adding him to dt on the 29th. That's only 4 days out. If no signs of bacteria infection and tail stays the same, am I ok to put into dt, or should I wait l longer?

Those are bite Mark's. Poor guy. If he stays clear for the next few days you should be fine.
