Firefish won’t find a new home. It needs one though.

So I have a Helfrichi Firefish. When I got it, it was very small. After a day or so, it found this tiny dart hole in my live rock (Marcos fake live rock). I didn’t even know the hole was there. I’ve had the fish for about 8 months now and its been doing really well… and growing. I started noticing the top fins are starting to get shredded. Nobody ever bothers it and it gets along with everybody in the tank. I think it’s too big for the dart hole, but I’m not sure what to do. Should I block the dart hole, forcing it to find a new place? Or leave it and hope the poor fish wises up? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

This fish lives in the rockwork so damaging himself does not make sense to me.
This fish is quite shy and usually subject to being picked on.
Maybe… I watch the tank a lot though and I never see anyone pay it any attention though. And it doesn’t hide from any of the fish, although it does like staying close to its dart hole. The only fish I have that even chases anyone is a purple tang but the tang is always indifferent to the firefish.

I can’t answer the question, but it would definitely be interesting to know what happens if you removed the rock or blocked the hole.

someone is picking on it, either fish or some sort of crab. Fish arent that dumb to hurt itself on rocks consistently
