Hate to say it but unless your able to sex them and you have 2 males the will fight to the death of one. Speaking from experience 
More so in smaller tanks like my 26g.

Where's the mysis?
I would have a back up plan if they begin to show signs of aggression. I know several people that have tried to keep pairs of fire fish and the success has been minimal.
