It appears we may have a Firefish that is going to have little ones. The one pictured is the expecting father. The mother is in her burrow. She is fat and from what we can tell, she has all the classic signs. Does anyone have any experience in this? Will pass out cigars if this is true.

Thanks
Dan

How are you determining the gender of these firefish?

What makes you think "little ones" are on the way, what are the "classic signs"?

I'd expect that, if they lay eggs on, say, the roof of their burrow, the larvae would hatch at night and try to move up into the water column as plankton. They'll be so tiny as to be near invisible, but would be removed by either those chromis, their own parents, any corals or other filter-feeders - or your filtration system.
