Firework clove polyps, do the grow like Xenia?

Hi,

Have a frag of firework clove polyps, wondering if I need to place them in an island? Do they grow like Xenia? I do not want then to spread all over. Thanks.

Cloves do grow like Xenia so an island to its self is not a bad idea at all!

Yes they can in good water conditions. If the base/stalk start to have algae growing on them, they will close up and start to die. Other than the algae/detritus build up, they tend to grow well, and are fairly easy to keep alive.
