I ordered my first sps corals and they arrived yesterday. After about eight hours with the lights on the lowest settings, both my acro and monti cap looked to be okay. However, I turned on the lights this morning and half of the Acro has bleached away. Did I do something wrong here?

do you think a clown goby could be the culprit? I saw him swimming around the Acro a lot

I'd recommend getting a picture or two of them along with measuring and posting your water parameters including calcium, alkalinity, and pH. Also +1 to the question about how old the system is.

Clown gobys irritate acros to no end. No idea if it's the problem this time but it will be an issue down the road. Pealing one day after shipping points to a shipping problem IMO, maybe the acro got too cold or too hot. How was the temperature of the bag when it arrived?

Quick note OP. Don't get discouraged. Most struggle with SPS early on. I'm still in that bucket myself but I think I'm close to getting it sorted. (knock on wood)

Yeah, I don't see RTN happening that fast just due to fish irritation.

How was the temperature on the day of arrival? My guess is combination of stressful shipping temperature, Alk difference from previous tank to yours, and maybe these 2 being combined with not enough time acclimating to your tank.. This is my guess because its happened to me many times lol
