My Yellow Tang seems to have scraped his head above the eyes at base of dorsal fin and has a nasty red scratch. Reef tank with inverts etc. any first aid advice?

Have not had him long less than a month. He is too agitated and swimming erractly i cant get a pic. My concern is leaving an open wound could get infected in some manner.

If he is otherwise healthy, he will be fine. I have 4 tangs, and the hippo tang in particular thinks it is fun to run as fast as he can from one end of the tank to the other then dart into the rocks. He has gotten gashes all over the place from the rocks and SPS corals, even split his tail one time, but he must think it's fun 'cuz he keeps doing it. And he has been doing it for over 3 years now :). Crazy fool never learns. LOL!! Anyway, he always heals up, even his split tail heals.

Ok.. i will try to remain calm and patient. Your description is exactly how my tang swims. just crazy fast from one end to the other in and around the rocks. Thanks,, gotta luv this forum.
