First chaeto reactor

so got my first phytotank cheto reactor and its been running for about 2 wks..on from 10pm to 6am.
Started to notice hair algae all over the black tube inside jar and on top of cheato.. I guess I should get in there and clean out the hair algae?

Do you have GHA in your tank?

If your major nutrients of nitrogen & phosphorus are low, green hair algae will most likely outcompete chaeto.

I do pretty fair amount..probably why small ball of chaeto won't grow right?

without Knowing much of your tank, I suggest adding ChaetoGrow for trace mineral addition.
