Just wanted to make a thread so i can organize my thoughts, get help if anything goes wrong.

Just got it last night, minus having to keep putting it upright everything seems to be going good.

Here is a picture of the guy.

Is this a normal amount to be open for being in the tank for about 12 hours(first 8 during the night)

I have heard from some the sand is where they want to be and others that they need to be moved to the rock as soon as there acclimated to your tank and lights.

As for feeding i am doing phyto into the tank every other day. Sound like enough?

i read on clams before i bought this guy but i could still use some help making sure he is happy/healthy

Not to rain on your parade but that clam does not look good. The mantle should never be that far down.

@skinz78

Thats not good, anything i can do for it?

water parameters are all good, only thing slightly out of line is phosphate of .08. Nitrate under 5.

i bought it at night, i live far away from the fishstore so i wasn't there till there lights were already dimming. i asked them about it and they said it has been "open all day". This LFS has been good to me so far and has a very good rep but it could have been a bad clam.

Here are my parameters in case this helps at all
nitrates <5
phosphate .08
ammonia nitrite 0
calcium 440
Alkalinity 12
mag 1440
ph 8.0

2 clownfish, firefish and a forktail blenny.
Inverts are hermits, snails and a cleaner shrimp.
Cleaner shrimp climbed over the clam for a while when i put it in but has left it alone sense.

Acclamation was 30 minutes of floating and an hour of drip.
