Exciting day... First fish for the new aquarium. Picked out 2 clowns. Floated in the QT to match temperature...had to drop the salinity from 1.025 to 1.023 for them, but that was easy enough.

Initially there was a little sizing each other up in bag on the ride home, but they are swimming together very peacefully so far. They keep going up and quivering their bodies at each other... Hopefully this is a good sign! Anything I should watch out for? I'll let them rest tonight and then see if they will take frozen food tomorrow.

Very nice clowns!
The quivering is definitely a good sign. I haven't yet seen that behavior from my new clowns. (They're a lot closer in size than yours)

quivering is exactly what you are looking for when you put two clowns together. So far so good,

Well that's good news! They seemed to be acting nice toward each other this morning. One took a little frozen food, the other was a bit picky about it.

Nice clowns. :-)

Resist the urge to over feed them initially. Small amounts of food, and do not be too worried if you do not see an active feeding response for the first couple days.

Congrats.

I call them the "Clownfish Jitters" :) My submissive male does it to my female all the time after they squabble or something. It's really annoying when they do it in the sandbed though...

Congrats on the new clowns though! They look really good!

Congrats.

Thanks for the advice! They are a "quirky" fish...love the strange swimming movements!

Well the honeymoon phase seems to be over! They seemed happy to see me in the mornings and then the evening for feeding time. Well, I reached in the tank to move one of the pvc tubes in order to siphon out excess pieces of food and wham... she laid into my hand, lol. I guess she considers that her home! Oh well, at least the pair still seems to be getting along great.

Welcome to mated pair clowns, I actual have to bag the male so I can clean the tank. Soon they will laying eggs. Then watch out my two take over a third of the tank and no one not even the trigger may enter.

Also just a tip, you should black out the bottom of your QT tank. This help fish be less disorientated, the reflection throws them off.

Thanks! That is a good idea. I'll have to make that adjustment.

Awe they are pretty... Do you have names for them yet?

Well, that topic is a source of tension in this household right now. I was going with Bozo and Crusty... but the wife and kids are saying no to that idea, lol. But we are all coming into agreement with "Thing 1" and "Thing 2"...But secretly, I'm still whispering "Bozo" and "Crusty" into the tank to them...
