I just received my first coral frag the other day, Xenia. I know they don’t ship too well and damaging can cause a mucus in which bacteria will kill the coral. I think that’s what happened with mine, the frag was closed in the shipping bag with a mucus coat hanging off, after acclimation and adding to my tank it opened up for a couple of hours and then flopped over and looked almost like it’s melting. So I’m pretty sure it’s dead. My water peramters are fine I checked them all before adding the coral. What should I do? Wait until it’s completely melted from the plug to ensure it’s really dead? Or just cut my loses now? I heard Xenia can have a reputation of coming back being extremely hardy coral. Any help from you guys with experience with Xenia would be very helpeful!! (:

Xenia notorious to melting if conditions are not met for them. Too bad you're not local I think, as I have them growing beyond wild and could supply you with a huge clump
