I’m just getting into corals and went over to the local big box pet store and saw they had assorted frags. I’m not exactly sure what it is! would anyone be able to help and ID it for me? Its currently closed so I’m not sure if what it’s gonna look like when it’s open. I appreciate any help I can get.

They look like zoa/palys
That’s what I was thinking just didn’t know cause it was closed when I bought it today. Hopefully it will open up later today or tomorrow and I will be able to get a good picture of it

Could be parazoathus as well? need to see them open, how long have you had them?

Welcome to the hobby !
I had a saltwater tank but fish only maybe 6-7 years ago and got out of it for a little. Just recently getting back in and the corals make it so addicting.

It’s starting to open!

Looks like parazoanthus.

Same husbandry as zoanthids, however these can spread super fast! I would isolate it to it's own rock away from the main rockwork in your tank just like you would with GSP.

So I should maybe get another piece of rock and put it in?
