First Euphyllia - Branching Hammer Coral

I picked up my first Hammer coral yesterday, placed it in low flow as told. When should I expect it to fully open?

Assuming your water parameters are all good, it should begin to extend. Although I do suggest moderate flow.

I got some better pictures. I guess i’m just concerned it isn’t extending all the way? or am I just paranoid about it?

That's about as open as those get.

I've had these guys for about a year and this is about 90% open. They get just a bit bigger throughout the day and then they close up at night.

If you want a Euphyllia that opens up a lot more than try some of these...

I don't have a filter on so you are not seeing the true colors, but you get the idea. Torches are my favorite coral and I have a few more in QT right now. They are a bit more expensive and can get into the ridiculously expensive, but if you stick to the more common ones they aren't too bad and well worth it. ;Happy
