So my tank is cycled and ready to go. I'm about to add my first fish. Would I need to put it in a quarantine tank considering there is nothing in the tank yet anyway?

I highly advise it. No matter if it's the first fish... if that first fish gets sick you will regret having to catch it and quarenteen anyway. And it would be unwise to treat the dt especially if copper for ich or velvet (high possibility). I always do qt on everything I add... that way i know no diseases or anything gets into my tank. Ich can come on snails or the cysts could be on a frag of coral. You never know. Would you rather be sure there is no problem our take the chance and have to deal with it down the road.(laborsome to some) due to catching the fish can be hard to do with the rock.

Excellent advice here. I don't quarantine my frags, simply because I can't. I don't have the space for a coral quarantine, but if I did I'd have one. Never add a fish to your tank without a thorough quarantine. The first one is the worst, trust me I know, especially when your display is ready. Ghost feed it during the quarantine period. You'll thank yourself later when your tank is disease free!

Awesome thanks!! I'll get that quarantine setup ready to go. I guess it'll be good to do that and practice good habits haha
