I just got my first fish for a 28g jbj nano cube. A pink bar gobey. My lfs told me he would bond with a pistol shrimp and suggested a bullseye pistol shrimp so I got both. When i got home and researched them both better i read bullseye shrimp don't typically bond with gobbies so accepted I should have researched first. When I awoke today imagine my joy at feeding to see the two of them bonded living in the same burrow together. Is this just luck that it happened or did I read a bad article? They are adorable together.

I think that is pretty common, bot sure if the bullseys tend to not bond but pistols are usually sold as a bonded pair with a goby.

Welcome. Glad they found each other and bonded. Watching my goby pair and their shrimp is probably my favorite.

All creatures are individuals and there are plenty of examples of atypical behavior. For example my Blue Star Leopard Wrasse and Melanurus Wrasse by all accounts are carnivores and shouldn't touch seaweed on a clip (and many people report that they won't), but both of mine tear into the seaweed sheets as if they were having a full on meaty buffet.
