Hi everyone

I am new to the hobby and I just got my first ever frags from an online vendor.

So here are some issues that I am not sure if they are expected to any order or simply the vendor should have dealt with before shipping.

Alveopora

One tiny thing that looks like aiptasia to me. Do you agree this is aiptasia? Also one of the polyps looks severely injured or dead... is this ok on a frag?

Favia

Two tiny things that look like aiptasia again... is this right?

Duncan

There is weird white spot in the back that looks like a dead head or that something bad happened there. What is this?

The perimeter of the top head seems injured

Also there are two tiny antennas coming out of the Duncan. Look at this video at the upper left edge of the Duncan as the tiny antennas contrast to the frag behind.

I also got a torch which also has these tiny antennas and possibly a tiny aiptasia.

A small blastomussa frags is fine.

Otherwise the frags look nice but I was expecting pretty much perfect frags which I did not get.

I would be interested to hear your comments.

Thanks

Hi everyone

I would be interested to hear your comments.

Hello, Panos
Welcome to Reef 2 Reef, and hope you feel at home.

That vendor should be ashamed.

Next time try Unique Corals / World Wide Corals / Divers Den WYSIWYG to name a few.

Try to find a great reef shop in your area.

You've got an good eye, and I don't think you would have brought those home had you inspected them first hand.

I would say yes absolutely Aiptasia. Not very nice frags as there is obviously damage/illness there. If you keep that frag I would remove it from the plug and re-glue it to a clean plug make sure that there are no aiptasia on it. If you put it in your display tank that’s it they are there.

I asked if from a live sale to find out in an indirect way who the vendor was. It looks like what I got from unique corals' last live sale. I ordered a green Kenya tree & got a normal colored Kenya tree. When I contacted Brian with unique corals, he told me to give it time to color up. I ordered 2 - one is obviously green, the other standard. But what do I know, maybe it's a chameleon & will change colors.
My order was as bad as the op's order. I didn't post a complaint-just made a mental note not to ever do business with them again.

For the record... they responded to my email and refunded the alveopora (which I think is goniopora although sold as alveopora).

Otherwise they look happy in the tank right now.
