Hi, just ordered my first Orange Passion from Cherry Corals. Was going to go with the a Cornbread OP but they were out of stock.

The one I purchased doesn't look to have orange(slightly colorblind). Do real like the growth pattern of this one and how bright it is.

Please post pics of your colonies especially if you got it from Cherry. I'm curious to see how it will look.

Thanks

Congrats on your first orange passion. Looks like a sexy OP. Was this photo found on cherry corals website? I

It is the exact coral and Image they had online. It was expensive (IMO) but it really attracted me first sight. The shape underneath the polyps look to be rounder than other types online so I went with it.

Does anyone have an SC,OP colony to share pics of?

Show yours off. Would love to see how it compares to their site image

Nice, is it SC and where did you get it from?

Is the OP supposed to be more branching or encrusting(wider at the base)? I've definitely seen different growth patterns.

Would higher light intensity make it stay short like a plant or would it stretch and grow more from extra light?

Thanks for the pic.

Finally, my first coral order. Arrived nicely packaged and I was surprised to get a bonus one. Removed the one from the plug and glued it. The OP is not staying there unless it thrives. Colors aren't as bright as I thought but still really nice. Hopefully with more light and some settings it'll brighten up.

Sorry, I forgot to clean the glass on the close ups while floating. Light is at about 5-10% white and moons on. After placing them I turned blues on to about 5-10%.

When should I hit them with higher light? Normally wouldn't worry about light intensity but the OP it is the highest price coral I have and don't want to stress it anymore than it has to be.

I’d leave it alone for a few days/week while it adjusts to your flow and chemistry. Then I’d move it on up the rocks and put your lights in acclimation mode (or just turn them down) for a month. If it was raised in high par, you could probably just blast it after it’s had some time on the bottom to adjust to new tank parameters.

Update: All was looking fine until a few days ago. Noticed the blue tips getting skinnier and some white around the edges. It's up higher in my tank now and I'm not sure if I have too little or too much light.

I use the SB Reef Lights 32" and not sure what setting is fine. It's set about 55%B and 35%W. Only way I've ever judged light intensity is by looking at mushrooms. When it's too bright they stay smaller. Right now they don't look be getting too much light and all other Acros are fine growing daily.

I don't want to loose this peace and could use any tips or opinions on the condition of my coral. It hasn't really encrusted more either but the base did turn a little green I think(slight colorblind).

Thanks
