Hi, i started a tank build a while back and I’m almost ready to start cycling , I’m after some advice on what critters are solid to start with and will play safe with future inhabitants & corals , I find shrimps/snails and inverts pretty fascinating so suggestions for them as well as fish that play nice , the kids have already decided on a pair of clown fish so they need adding to the list
Thanks

800litre DT with 3”- 4” sand bed and rocks , 200litre sump.

Kewl
Welcome and howdy

the boxes on the back are overflow and return, an 200litre RO water tank fits in between the back boxes and under the stand is 150litre salt mix tank and 200litre sump, most current photo I’ve got is the leak test before I drilled the bulkheads, I’ll add some more when I get the doors back on the stand .
Abit of a DIY affair , when I first started building a tank it was going to be tropical FW, if I’d decided to go reef at the start I’d probably have just bought a glass tank to begin with... Also the epoxy paint topcoat was supposed to be a darker shade of blue but came as sky blue which I’m not ecstatic about ‍♂️

Start with what you find fascinating make a clean up crew that includes shrimp / snail / invert.

Check out reef cleaners dot org (not sure if links are permitted here I'm new) but general rule is to take your tank size look at one of their cleaner packages and cut it in half start with something like that!
