First monti, need advice

So I got talked into a monti by my LFS

I was staying away from SPS but I guess not now!

Tank is pretty new for sps but will see.

My main question is about placement
I was told lots of light.

Tank is a reefer 450 116 gallon

Kessil a360x lights
Red Sea skimmer and vectra m1 pump
Carbon in a media bag but that’s about it.

2 mp40’s running low

Does this placement look ok?

Nice. Monti caps are pretty hardy so I would expect it to survive and thrive.

My only tip would be that I learned from experience to place Monti caps low in the tank so they won't shade other corals as they grow.

Also, it's really tempting to place them up high when they are your first SPS out of concern for lighting, but they are hardier than you may realize and do fairly well in lower light. Also, you may not plan to get more sps, but it's an addiction...

I think Monti caps may be a doorway drug...

For reference, see where I started my red Monti cap under the green season's greetings. It's shaded and pretty much in the sand bed 24" under water. You can see from the white edges that it's still growing.

Good thought on it shading other things below

Tank is only 3 months old but doing great. Barley any algae. Never got any uglier really.
7 fish, including a bristle tooth tang who I love and a reasonable CUC

Really loving it so far

This is definitely tabling
It’s green like a seasons greetings but the edge all the way around the cap is purple
Hmmmm
